Late 1820s coat adapted off of an original worn by Joseph Draper (1794-1834) in the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation collections. Pattern taken off of original coat done with Mark Hutter, Master Tailor for Historic Trades at Colonial Williamsburg. I researched 1820s drafting manuals to help inform the drawing of the pattern. Entirely hand stitched with most ironing done with a hearth iron. 2025.
